[[Monster: Bison | Robinloft]] I’ve had exactly one real-world encounter with an animal in which I was forced to face my own mortality. While visiting Yellowstone National Park, one foggy early morning, my partner and I were surrounded by a herd of bison.

Any individual bison is one of the most impressive beasts you will ever encounter. The males are commonly 6 ft. high, 9 ft. long, and over 2000 pounds. And there we were surrounded by dozens of them, perhaps a hundred. We stayed calm and still and we were lucky to survive the encounter.
