Spenderman

You step into the shop and see someone perched on a stool behind the counter. They stand up, their frame towering over you with limbs much too long. It smiles constantly, the grin seeming to stretch wider than its face should allow. "Welcome!" it cries, "We're having a sale- 75% off EVERYTHING!"

This lanky creature looks mostly human, except for its large stature and much-too-wide smile. It sneaks into shops when they are closed and acts as if it is an employee there, attempting to cajole customers into coming in and purchasing wares or services. The trickster will then provide a perverse, twisted version of the normal goods or service provided, which can leave a customer embarrassed, confused, injured, or worse. When confronted, the Spenderman cackles madly and disappears in search of another shop to impersonate the staff of.

Strangely, it avoids using its spells on creatures unless they have purchased something from it, even if combat erupts, preferring brute force over magical compulsions. It has been suggested that by purchasing from it, a victim makes a deal with the fey which gives the Spenderman “permission” to cast upon them.

When killed, the Spenderman’s magic fades from any affected individuals, and it dissolves into a harmless swarm of moths, leaving no evidence behind.
