Once the action is completed, the defender takes 5 (2d4) poison damage from the blood’s corruptive nature. The defender can’t use this ability again until it has completed a short or long rest.

Innate Spellcasting (1/Day). The vanquished defender can innately cast shield, requiring no material components. Its innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom.
