Captain Raskov
This small sphere of thick glass weighs 1 pound. If Captain Raskov is within 60 feet of it, Captain Raskov can speak its command word and cause it to emanate the light or daylight spell. Once used, the daylight effect can’t be used again until the next dawn.
Captain Raskov can speak another command word as an action to make the illuminated globe rise into the air and float no more than 5 feet off the ground. The globe hovers in this way until Captain Raskov or another creature grasps it. If Captain Raskov moves more than 60 feet from the hovering globe, it follows Captain Raskov until it is within 60 feet of you. It takes the shortest route to do so. If prevented from moving, the globe sinks gently to the ground and becomes inactive, and its light winks out.
Captain Raskov may use the Driftglobe once per day to cast a limited commune spell in which the questions must relate to either the weather, the course, or the ship for the correct answer to be known.
Lastly, when Captain Raskov’s sworn enemy is within 5 miles, the Driftglobe glows red.
While Captain Raskov is wearing this rare ring, it can step onto water, causing all the liquid connected to it in a 30 ft. radius around it to cool and freeze into solid ice. The water remains frozen while within range, and Captain Raskov can move across it normally (other creatures treat it as difficult terrain).
