Feyshade
The feyshade can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
While in bright light, the feyshade has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
While in dim light or darkness, the feyshade can take the Hide action as a bonus action.
A feyshade doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.
Actions
Feyshade
Sometimes, various fey will kidnap a child and swap them with another fey, to be raised in the child’s place. While reasons for this exchange can vary, if the deception is not discovered the original child may grow up in the Feywilds. Humanoids can find this life to be difficult, feeling out of place in a strange and hostile world. An adult who learns of their stolen life on the Material Plane may try to force themselves back there through sheer force of will. Those that succeed become Feyshades, half-real creatures stuck between the planes, constantly searching for the fey that replaced them.
A Feyshade will use its Locate Creature ability to seek out their false-self. Should it find the creature, it will attempt to literally take the creature’s life, draining the memories and trying to become who they should have been all along. Should the creature die from the Memory Drain ability, the Feyshade claims the creature’s body and memories for its own, though it retains the personality it developed and memories of its time in the Feywild.
