Remorhaz
A creature that touches the remorhaz or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage.
Actions
The remorhaz makes one bite attack against a Medium or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, that creature takes the bite’s damage and is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the remorhaz, and it takes 21 (6d6) acid damage at the start of each of the remorhaz’s turns.
If the remorhaz takes 30 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the remorhaz must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet oft he remorhaz. If the remorhaz dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 15 feet of movement, exiting prone.
Remorhazes
“In the heart of the coldest wastelands, beneath layers of snow and ice, lurks a fiery menace. When the ground trembles and the snow melts beneath your feet, the Remorhaz rises.”
A Remorhaz is a paradox of the tundra, creatures of searing internal heat thriving in the frigid arctic expanse.
Fiery Furnace. Remorhazes possess a unique physiology that allows them to generate intense heat. Growing up to 25 feet in length, these behemoths have a sleek, armored carapace that glistens in cold hues. However, their insides burn with a fierce glow, which can be seen through gaps in their armored segments and in their furnace-like maws and radiant eyes.
Arctic Ambushers. These creatures are masters of surprise, burrowing through the ice and snow to ambush unsuspecting prey from below. The sudden melting of snow or patches of soft ground in the tundra are often the only signs of an impending Remorhaz attack.
Voracious Predators. Remorhazes are indiscriminate hunters. From arctic fauna to wandering adventurers, anything that moves is potential prey. Once they have their jaws locked onto a target, few escape, as their searing heat can melt armor and flash-cook flesh.
